Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data gunjanjaswal.me(“this site”) collects, why, and what rights you have. This site is a personal portfolio operated by Gunjan Jaswal, who is the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

1. Data I collect

Contact form

When you use the “Get In Touch” form I collect the name, email address, and message you submit. This is used solely to read and reply to your enquiry.

• Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and my legitimate interest in responding (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Processor: submissions are delivered through Web3Forms, which forwards the message to my inbox. I do not store submissions in a database on this site.
• Retention: I keep enquiry emails only as long as needed to correspond with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them.

Analytics

I use analytics to understand aggregate traffic. Specifically:

• Vercel Web Analytics — cookieless, aggregated, no personal profiles. Runs without consent.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless, aggregated. Runs without consent.
• Google Analytics 4— sets cookies and processes usage data. It loads in a cookieless “consent denied” mode by default and only sets cookies after you accept via the cookie banner. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Local storage

This site stores small values in your browser’s local storage for functional purposes only: to remember your cookie choice (gj_cookie_consent) and to rotate a bit of on-page copy (gj_contact_line). These are not cookies, are not shared, and are not used for tracking.

2. Cookies

No cookies are set unless you accept them in the banner. If you accept, Google Analytics sets its standard measurement cookies (e.g. _ga). You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which will restore the default “denied” state on your next visit.

3. Sharing and international transfers

Data is processed by the service providers named above (Web3Forms, Google, Vercel, Cloudflare). These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own transfer safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). I do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR / UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
